• Pay Rate: $39.00 - $42.00/hr + Overtime (OT)

Are you a skilled Trade Assistant looking for stable, ongoing work with great pay and plenty of overtime? We are seeking a reliable and proactive Trade Assistant to join our team in Lytton. You will be working alongside qualified tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience across a diverse range of mechanical and site tasks.

What You'll Be Doing

You will support qualified tradespeople with mechanical overhauls, component servicing, and general site duties. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Mechanical Support: Assisting with disassembling components, replacing bearings, seals, and gaskets, checking alignment/rotor clearances, and performing functional performance testing.

• Precision Work: Assisting with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to check for fatigue.

• Tool Operation: Utilizing a wide variety of tools (including torque wrenches, impact guns, die grinders, gauges, calipers, and ultrasonic leak detectors).

• Site & Safety Control: Spotting machinery/equipment, managing area control (barricading), and ensuring a clean, safe workspace.

• Logistics: Handling material arrangement, equipment transportation, and ad hoc manual labor as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Proven experience as a Trade Assistant, preferably within a mechanical, workshop, or heavy industrial environment.

• Tool Literacy: Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools (spanners, torque wrenches, grinders, etc.).

• Safety-First Mindset: Absolute commitment to safety. You must be able to read, understand, and sign on to SWMS/SOPs, and maintain sharp awareness of lifting loads and overhead works.

• Reliability: Punctual, hard-working, and ready for consistent ongoing work.

🎯 Highly Desirable (Bonus Points)

• Oil Refinery Experience: Previous experience working within an oil refinery or petrochemical environment is highly regarded and will move your application to the top of the pile!
